For next season, we will slowly be releasing a very special capsule in honor of my Colombian roots. I want to incorporate the beautiful legacy left by our ancestors in my pieces to highlight pre-colonial work. This is a work in progress as I study my own roots to try to find answers about my own identity as a Mestiza woman living in the US. Mestiza is mixed race ancestry with white European, indigenous, and African.

As we head into this new year, we are feeling hopeful for the future yet weary of the injustices and difficulties of our present moment. We’re not sure what to expect from 2021, but we know that we will be meeting it with intention, and thus I want to share with you some reflections that have been fueling my work.

The Seasons Dress depicts the four seasons wanting to remind us of the beauty of the in-between and the beauty in imperfection. In line with our SS19 inspiration of Wabi- Sabi, Danielle, from Flora + Form, painted the four seasons in a refreshing perspective and we transformed it into a modern, easy going print. The strokes, the lines, and the flow of the dress are representative of the lightness and comfort that we could allow ourselves to feel if we accept things as they are and we go with the flow of the uncertainties that life brings our way– Embracing imperfection along the way.
